Lemons and Lapis

This table begins with a Waverly tablecloth - "Oranges and Lemons".

Place settings included Fiesta dishes in the colors of lapis, sunflower, marigold, and periwinkle.

Pillar candles sit in Fiesta lapis berry/fruit bowls.

Blue goblets were collected at garage sales by my mom

I wanted to include lemons in the tablescape but only had one in the frig so I cut it and placed a slice on each goblet.

Love the new smoky blue lapis Fiesta color!

Class of 2013

Just a simple dinner for 100...
My youngest son's graduation party was held on May 26th.

Tables and chairs were rented.  Some chair backs were covered with the graduate's favorite t-shirts.

T-shirts from his elementary school years

Momentos from his high school years.

Tablecloths and mortarboard confetti in the graduate's future school's colors - gold and maroon representing the University of Minnesota
Globe pencil sharpeners were placed on the tables to indicate the guest of honor's interest in geography

Sign stating "It means the world to me that you're here!" and asking that guests sign the world atlas in lieu of a guest book.  (The graduate studied geography frequently as a participant in Knowledge Bowl.)

The cake, bars, and ice cream punch
Rest of menu included fresh fruit, carrots with dip, five cup salad, a taco bar and turkey enchiladas

Nautical Noon

I set up this tablescape in honor of the release of a new Fiesta color - lapis - a beautiful smoky blue.

I decided to use ocean colors and a nautical theme.

Ocean-themed accessories take center stage.

A lapis berry/fruit Fiesta bowl turned upside down holds a pillar candle.

This place setting utilizes a periwinkle blue Fiesta dinner plate, a lapis luncheon plate, a cobalt blue textured glass plate of unknown origin, a lapis salad plate, and a periwinkle bowl.

Shells collected in Port Aransas, Texas, by my parents were placed on the nautical net adorning the table.

The goblets were found at garage sales by my mom.

Blue napkins were accordion folded, then folded in half and placed into a napkin ring to make them stand up.

Pretty Pink Poppies and Peonies

How's that for some fun alliteration?

I wait all year for my peonies for bloom.

I found these pretty poppy plates at a local gift shop last summer and thought they'd look good with Fiesta's new color release for 2012 - flamingo.

Lemongrass, flamingo and black Fiesta pieces blend in the place settings of this floral-themed table.

I found this table square on ebay.

Love the contrast of the lemongrass and flamingo with the black!

As the table square was too small to cover the table, I layered it over a large, white textured tablecloth.

Down on the Farm

This John Deere bucket was the inspiration for my farm-themed table.

Yellow and green bandana napkins anchor the centerpiece.

This enamel coffee pot was my mom's.  I discovered it when we were cleaning out dad's storage unit and couldn't part with it.

My dad farmed with John Deere implements.

Shamrock dinner plate, sunflower luncheon plate and lemongrass berry bowl (some marigold pieces were also used on the table)

Shamrock Fiesta dishes are almost a perfect match for the green in John Deere ads.

Canning jars stand in as drinking glasses in this casual country setting.  Plain white napkins were simply tied around flatware.

Fake flowers and greens were added to the coffee pot to complete the focal point of the table.
