Christmas Eve 2012

Here's another Christmas table setting.  Our school had a snow day so I took the opportunity to do a practice table setting for Christmas Eve.

My Lenox tablecloth was too short to use on the table so I layered a dark green poinsettia-patterned tablecloth under it.  I turned the smaller tablecloth sideways so that it lays across the middle of the table.

Cape Cod by Avon accent/serving pieces mix nicely with the cinnabar and juniper Fiestaware pieces.

Here's the real thing - our Christmas Eve 2012 tablescape.

There were 9 diners so I added place settings, and I removed a few of the accessories on the table to make room for the food.

The napkins are accordion folded before putting them into the napkin rings.  Then they are fanned out.

I think they look like flowers (or bird wings).

These cool wine napkins rings I found on ebay were the inspiration for this table...well, the napkin rings and all those bottles of wine I have stashed away.

A row of reds and whites encircled with a leaf garland creates the centerpiece of this table.

Apples and Chalkdust

It's almost back-to-school time!  Stores are stocked with school supplies, the weather is changing and, I'm being drawn back to my classroom.  Time for a school-themed table!

This table is a re-creation of a table I did with my sister several years ago for a local Tour of Tables fundraiser. 

I used Fiesta dishes and accessories in Juniper and Cinnabar.  I don't recall where I got the cute apple glasses.

Mini-chalkboards can serve as place cards.

Many of the table decorations have been given to me by friends and family through the years.  Note the vintage "Dick and Jane" reader.

The cute little desk in the photo below is actually a picture frame.  I put a teacher-themed thank you card into the frame.

This book, which I received from a student, was the original inspiration for this table title and theme.
